Strawberry Girl Holiday Wish List

Fun and girly names for things have been getting a bad rap lately. Some say we've taken it too far. 'They aren't blueberry milk nails girl, they're blue'. 'It's not cowboy copper girl you died your hair red'. I can't lie at first I hopped on this bandwagon but recently I've had a change of heart. Why the hell not? Why can't we let the girls have fun? Who are we harming by labelling ourselves as cinnamon girls or claiming our aesthetic as coquettes? No one. So if you want to call yourself a strawberry girl and find some fun, pink, cutie ideas for your holiday wish list by god I'm going to help you out, girl. Here are my picks for all the strawberry gals out there.

The key to the strawberry girl aesthetic is pink and pretty things. Thus, the absolute strawberry girl must-have is pretty pink packaging. Obviously, you don't want to just buy products for the packaging alone, but there are many brands that have caught on to the importance of aesthetic packaging in addition to good products. The first to master the minimalistic, girly product packaging aesthetic was probably Glossier and their look has been emulated by many it-girl brands since. A simple Pinterest search will show you that there are a few brands that perfectly encapsulate this idea and thus the strawberry girl vibe.

Before we dive in I want to say that there are a lot of designer or luxury brands on this list, but that is not to say that in order to achieve the strawberry girl aesthetic you need expensive things. To her core, a strawberry girl is simply a girly girl who loves pink and pretty things. You can find many things to match your aesthetic at vintage or thrift stores, Etsy shops, and even the drugstore. If you really want the exact look of some of these expensive products there are likely dupes out there that can also emulate the same energy. If a post on that is something that would interest you, please leave a comment and I will happily write about it next.

That being said, let's take a look at my top picks for all the strawberry girls out there to add to their holiday wish lists (or to treat themselves to):

Glossier

As someone who has been using Glossier religiously since high school, I have tried many of their products. Thus I feel pretty comfortable providing recommendations on what is and isn't worth it. Their emphasis is on beauty that emphasizes skincare first and the brand often falls in line with the no-makeup, makeup trend. Thus, if you are someone who prefers a full face of makeup that looks like you're wearing makeup, I would recommend sticking to Glossier skincare only. Here are my picks:

Futuredew Oil/Serum Hybrid

The perfect product to acheive the glowy no-makeup makeup look. Put it under your foundation or as the last step in your skincare routine to feel extra glowy on no-makeup days.

This packaging is probably one of the prettiest bottles I have ever seen. Obessessed is an understatemnt.

Milk Jelly Cleanser

As someone who has struggled with cystic acne for a long part of my life when I find a skincare product that I like, I hold onto it for dear life. I have been using this cleanser since the 9th grade. Its scentless, doesn't dry my skin, and just really feels like it cleans my face.

The minimalistic packaging is sleek and simple while still keeping it cute with a hint of their famous baby pink.

Cloud Paint Liquid Blush

This is the first glossier product I ever purchased and it helped me make the switch from powder to liquid/cream blushes. It is extremely buildable so it is the perfect product to help you make the switch. Apply with your finger tips and just keep building until you are happy with the pigment. As someone who has a very fair skin tone my favourite colours are puff and beam.

Makeup that looks like chic tubes of paint - what's not to love?

Balm Dotcom

The reformulation of Glossier's balm dotcom is my Roman Empire. Why did they do it? Why touch perfection?

I can confirm that as someone who has used this product for years that it isn't the same. But perhaps if you haven't had it before you won't be able to tell the difference and love it anyways.

Either way, she looks real cute in your bag. My favourite scents are rose and original.

Ultralip

My most recent fave from this brand is the ultralip in villa. If you are someone who wears pillowtalk lip liner religiously, this colour will match it very well. Its fun and glossy without being an actual gloss or lip oil. It is far from long wearing, but that's the case with any lipstick in this sort of formulaiton.

My only problem is that although the packaging is super cute the lids always pop off. They don't dry out but obviously that is a big problem for a lip product priced at $24.

Generation G

I will never forget the way my life changed when Kallie Kaiser of youtube fame recommended this product in the shade cake and changed. my. life.

Nothing matches this product in terms of truly making your lips look like they could naturally be that colour. The ultimate natural makeup lip product.

The same lid issue happens with this one so beware of that.

Glossier You

This is one of my go to everyday perfumes. It smells fresh and allegedly smells different on everyone. What I do know is that I love the was it smells on me.

This packaging strems strawberry girl. Pink, glass, simple. Love it.

If you couldn't tell, I am a very large fan of this brand. Pretty much anything you buy from them will not disappoint and compared to many other brands sold in Sephora, their prices are on the low to mid-range.

Gisou

The haircare brand that everyone is talking about right now is Gisou. Clearly taking a page out of glossier's book, Gisou;s packaging is all about glass, pink, white, and simplicity. I personally don't have any of their products but will be adding some to my personal wish list. Here are my picks for what I think all the strawberry girls will eat up:

Honey Infused Hair Oil

I mean come on. It just looks beautiful.

If you're on beauty tiktok you probably know that hair oiling is all the rage right now. What I like about this one is that it can be used as an overnight treatment or just to smooth frizzy or dull hair.

This product was an allure beauty 2023 award winner. Plus, apparently, it smells amazing.

Gisou Lip Oil

And the lip oil era lives on. Of all of the viral lip oil this one seems to be one of the most popular that is not tinted. It's a bit pricey but I would be lying of I told you I didn't want to try it.

Some other Gisou products that I have heard great things about are their hair perfume, hair repair serum, and leave-in conditioner. If you like their vibes I recommend checking them out.

Dior

Dior products are for times that you really want to treat yourself. They are extremely pricey for makeup products but they really do turn it. Plus their packaging is extremely girly and fun. I haven't tried all of the following products but I will give my opinion on those that I have.

Dior Lip Oil

This is my holy grail luxury makeup product. Every Christmas I ask for it so I can be stocked up for the rest of the year. I could buy it for myself, but $54 for a lip oil seems like a splurge I just cannot justify as a student. My absolute favourite shade is rosewood.

Dior Lip Glow

I am going to be so real and vulnerable with you guys right now - I was fully convinced that most people just bought this product for the aesthetic. However after using it I actually get the hype. It reminds me of the generation g lip product from Glossier but with shimmer in it. The only stipulation is that on me all of the colours that I tried ended up just looking pink. Do with that what you will.

Backstage Glow Face Palette

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this palette? That monogram stamped into the power? Everything.

I personally have never tried this but I have heard good things if you're someone that still loves a good powdered highlight.

Other popular Dior products within the strawberry girl aesthetic are their Miss Dior perfume collection and their rosy glow blush. Check them out if you're curious and add what you like to your list. Heres some more aesthetic pictures because why the hell not.

Bedding

Another staple of the strawberry girl aesthetic are feminine bedding. Sheets with dainty flowers or hearts, silk or satin pillow cases, and pink, pink, pink. The best place to find these are Amazon, LL Bean, or Djerf avenue but pretty much any Bed and Bath type store will have some form of what you're looking for. Here are some of the pinterest inspo pics I've gathered.

Pink Nail Polish

An easy small gift for a strawberry girl would be any sort of baby pink nail polish. This can be found from virtually any brand, but here are some specific shades from essie that are currently available.

Catch All Dishes

What better way to display all of your pretty trinkets, cosmetics, and jewellery than a catch all dish. These can be found on Etsy, Amazon, in vintages stores, at Homesense and more. Here are some from my strawberry mood board that you may vibe with.

Ballet Flats

If you lean into the ballet core aesthetic, the perfection addition to you wardrobe will always be another variation for the ballet flat. The hottest right now are probably red pumps a la Repetto or Steve Madden. If you like to keep it classic and girly, perhaps a baby pink? Or if you're looking for something a bit more classic, better opt for black. Great places to look for these types of shoes are Repetto, Steve Madden, L'Intervalle, and Feversole. Designer brands known for their ballet flats are Chanel and Miu Miu.

Heart Shaped Jewellery

If you're a strawberry girl that likes the coquette aesthetic, heart shaped jewellery will make a great addition to your list. One of my favourite places for pieces like this is En Route jewellery. All of the pieces below are from there.

That completes my holiday wish list for all of my strawberry girls out there. If there is any other aesthetic you would like me to make a wish list for, please leave a comment!
