Hello, Darlings!
Boy have I missed you. Apologies for my absence, it has been a long last few months. The good news is, that I am officially done with undergrad and back home. This means I have plenty of time to sit down and do what I love the absolute most - curate content for you all!
So in trying to get the fashion gears turning again, I thought to myself, what have I personally been on the hunt for recently? In preparation for an upcoming family trip to Greece (stay tuned for an everything I wore post) I have been looking for a bathing suit that has enough coverage for a family trip but isn't too prudish. I want something that gives chic lady with a lot of money while, well, not having to spend a lot of money. In addition to this criteria, I also needed something that would both support my chest (32d) and fit the rest of my body. Now I can't promise you that all of the options below fit these criteria. In fact, they don't, that's why I acquired such a long list. However, I hope that using your own set of criteria you can find the perfect one piece for yourself.
The Vision
Now I'm sure you've been asking yourself, 'Why does she even want a one-piece in the first place?'. Great question I'm so glad you asked that my love. The thing is, I have always thought that certain one-piece swimsuits were extremely chic. With the right high-rise on the hip and proper fit in the bust, they can almost be sexier than bikinis. I truly believe that if it weren't for outside influence I would have been wearing them through adolescence all the way until now. But alas, the mass media has convinced me that bikinis are for young, spunky women and one-pieces are for moms who are ashamed of their bodies. 'Show your belly while you still can! In a few years, it will be so stretched and saggy that you must hide it from society!' But this simply isn't true. The other horror story that people love to tell is of the girl who didn't tan. 'But If you wear a one-piece... your tan lines will look insane. Your belly won't even tan!' To that I say, have you seen my complexion? Even in the skimpiest bikini, I wouldn't achieve anywhere near a bronze glow.
If I have discovered one thing over the past years or so of doing this, it is that when I stick to my gut instincts on fashion choices, it usually works out well for me. Why? Because that is what I want to wear, not what others tell me I should wear. Now of course it is impossible to live in an echo chamber of your own taste. Trend predictions, influencers, vogue - everything has some degree of influence. But to put it plainly, and perhaps a little too bluntly, I'm tired of taking style advice from people who wear things I wouldn't, just because they form the majority. So yes - I ordered the damn one piece.
The collage above gives you a better idea of what exactly I personally was looking for. I wanted something classic that would last in my closet. Something black, white, or both. Something high cut on the hip. Something that said - 'yes I do own this yacht, can I help you?'. Many Google reverse image searches and TikTok scavenges later, I collected the following list of contenders. I am not currently endorsed by any of these brands and am simply sharing with you the results of my own hunt. I hope you find them useful.

Nyud
As a Canadian, I felt it important to make sure that this Toronto-based brand made it to the top of my list. With mentions in Elle, Cosmo, Forbes, and more, this swimwear brand with an emphasis on versatility and sustainability must be doing something right. With a variety of styles (yes they have bikinis too) and colours, you are bound to find the perfect suit for you at Nyud. I need to take a moment of appreciation for their 'pistachio' colour offering which is absolute perfection. I have linked it below here in the brand's Palma One Piece, a close-second place winner to the style I ended up buying for myself. If you are someone with a smaller chest, this tube-style silhouette would look stunning on you.
For you bigger-chested girlies, behold the piece that I ended up splurging on, the Tropea One Piece in Nero. In my hunt for the perfect suit it became apparent to me that If I wanted it to fit me like a glove, especially given my proportions, I was going to have to invest. In this same vein of thought, I knew I needed something that would never go out of style. Something that ten years down the line I could pull out of my drawer and still feel both stylish and confident in. Plus, it was the closest thing that I could find to my inspo that wasn't either $26 or $250 That is exactly what the Tropea One Piece is. I have yet to receive it in the mail, so I will update you all on the fit when it arrives. OH and btw... you can get 10% off on your first order. This isn't an ad I just really love their stuff.
Gooseberry
For those of you who are looking for something a little more on the sexy side, Gooseberry is the way to go. Specifically, the brand's classic one piece, which comes in a wide range of 15 colours. With a high cut hip and a deep plunging neckline, the suit allows you to have the belly coverage of a one piece with the cleavage of a triangle bikini top. My favourite colours in this style have to be sage, rum, and black.
For those who still want to show some cleavage, but not as much as the classic fit, the brand also offers its one piece cutout style. The peekaboo cutout and low-back still make this suit sexy, while allowing more functionality than the classic.
Lastly, the brand also offers a more classic silhouette with its tank one piece. If you've every wanted your skims bodysuit to be a swimsuit - this is the one for you.
Dippin Daisys
When I was looking to purchase. a suit for myself, Dippin Daisys was a close contender. They have the most adorable styles and prints - plus they have size inclusive options! The first suit that caught my eye was the brand's star scoop one piece in black/white rib. Unfortunately, they were sold out of my size but they might have yours! So if any of you are in the market for the perfect simple black one piece with white piping, which apparently everyone and their mom is also looking for, you are in luck.
For those of you looking for something with more support, the Saltwater Thigh High Cut One Piece is absolutely adorable. The Nostalgia Stripe pattern is pastel perfection (pictured) and it also comes in black for you staple seekers.
Monday Swimwear
For those of you with a little extra pocket money, I need to shed some light on the brand that sparked my interest in the first place, Monday Swimwear. This brand embodies that chic black and white beachwear that I have been seeing all over my feed. Black with white piping and just the right cut around the hip make Monday's pieces worthy of adoration (and apparently a great deal of imitation). The Clovelly one piece became so popular that the inevitable Alibaba dupes have been popping up all over my Pinterest feed and Insta story ads. As someone who believes in quality swimwear I wanted the Clovelly suit so badly but couldn't justify the price. So instead, I opted for the Nyud Tropea as it offered a similar silhouette for about half the cost.
For those of you who are looking for a bit of a different style, Monday has a great variety of colours and styles. Pictured below is their Ravello One Piece which is a bit sportier and perhaps better suited for those with smaller chests. Oh - and for any moms to be, they have maternity suits as well.
Saltwater Collective
Saltwater collective is a brand that seeks to bring confidence back into swimwear. Designed for all bodies, Saltwater offers a variety of simple, sustainably designed swimwear. The Emily One Piece caught my eye on my Instagram Explore page. The navy colour in particular is my personal favourite. Unfortunately, the brand is currently out of stock of this piece, but you can browse their other offerings for something that best suits you (sorry that pan was not intentional).
That concludes my list of one-pieces that I have been collecting. I hope this was helpful and would love to hear from you if you purchase any of them. Thank you for your ongoing support, it really means the world to me. Also feel free to send my content ideas - I always want to make what you're all interested in.
